I don't think anyone has mentioned the old Jolly Rogers on 39th and Powell.
Truly wonderful fish and chips.🥰
Oh YEAH! One of the places we found to get Fish & Chips when we moved here in 1983. That was when it was on 39th just north of Powell. East side. They had moved down to 12th ave some 22 years ago, and then got ran out by criminals when the city allowed this formerly great city to crumble in a lot of places.
Sad story below...

I had one In n Out burger a friend brought to me. It was good, but if the drive thru lines are as long as the one I see in Keizer, it ain't happenin.

For the money, Carl's Jr gets my vote.
The Drive Thru lines in Keizer can be beaten by going inside. There's usually very good parking in their parking lot with easy access, UNLIKE the incredible LINES.

Jolly Rogers was very good place to get F&C ! Loved going there.

Andrew and Steve's Restaurant was a little, nothing diner in Astoria, Oregon. My memories of that era and location were overwhelmingly negative. But that restaurant wasn't bad. The used to have a breakfast special of razor clams and eggs that was great. I read they closed up shop in 2011.

I miss Burgerville. Mainly because I'm in Ohio now, and they don't have those anywhere near here.

Also Whataburger. Closest ones are over 6 hours away.

Nothing comes to mind of places that aren't around anymore at all that I used to like.
I miss the Burgerville that once was. I know others have said the same thing. I used to live and work in Beaverton (OR) and would stop regularly at the one not too far from Bob Lanphere's Honda dealership. Two regular Burgers, extra sauce, 1 french fry, 1 shake (I varied the flavors each time in). Miss those times.

I tried the In N Out down in Roseburg because it was handy to where my mom was in the hospital. I wasn't all that impressed. The burger and fries were okay, and the price wasn't too bad. I maybe had too high of expectations, so I gave them another try a couple of weeks later - same result.

I played golf at Bandon Dunes with some friends on Tuesday, and we stopped at The Mill Casino for dinner on the way home. They served up a pretty good burger with tots, but it was $18. I didn't leave hungry though. I had a lot of tots leftover, that were eventually scarfed down by a salad ordering buddy.

There is a new Chick-fil-A in Springfield. I've never been to one. Looks like I'll have to wait for the newness to wear off though, because the lines are horrific.

Just thinking. I remember the 19 cent burgers at Bob's in Salem. Maybe I thought they were good because I was only 16. But what I was thinking is: "How many Bob's 19 cent burgers can you get for $18? " You know I can't find a restaurant (not fast food) that offers a burger for less that about $15. You know I'm O-L-D, but I'm NOT rich, and I live on approximately 1.25% annual increase in income sooo ....

Florence OR has one that still utilizes the menu on the poll and intercom ordering. Pluss inside seating.

Good to know thx! I don't know if I've ever been to Florence. I like Newport so much I never go south of there.

I miss the little working man cafes. Ones that you could get breakfast at 6am and mid morning it was the place to hang out and get the local gossip. You know the place, with homemade pies and cinnamon rolls waitress that call you Hun. Humm, must be time to road trip out to the Silver Lake Cafe again.

When I was a kid the Lettuce Inn down in Sutherlin had burgers 4/$1 (yeah, I'm old too). LOL

$18 seems crazy for a burger and tots, but at least it was good. I wonder about that Applebee's ad that shows a pretty good-looking burger special for $9.99. May have to give that a try. It does say "limited time".

That sounds a lot like the Sunrise Cafe in Pleasant Hill, but I haven't been there for years. Last time I was there, it was so good, but seemed like the portions were way too big and it was the kind of chow you could gain weight just looking at it. I avoid the place because I don't need the calories. :D

Florence is just a small Newport. Minus the incessant barking seals. But Florence had been going to the woke. Been taken over by people from that valley. We had vacationed there since 1998 up until a couple years ago when the woke took over our place were we stayed every year. And turned 8 of the 9 units in to low rent housing. The city messed up the downtown area with eateries taking over parking on Main Street. A woke mayor and terrible drivers from the Valley. I do still have feelings for the time we spent on the area lakes fishing.

The Sunrise Cafe is good but crowded. Adies in Springfield is the same. There used to be two in Creswell, Mom's snack Shack and the Rocket Inn. The Rocket made home-made Potato chips extra crispy and well salted, hot out of the fryer they were awesome.

Sounds like Banning's Restaurant & Pie House in Tigard.
Before the swap meet last weekend, I enjoyed this thoroughly
