I acquired a mint Remington model 30 from a board member a while back. I am getting older and my eyesight does not do well with iron sights.
So wether than butchering a really nice rifle I am putting it up for trade. I purchased it for a grand so I would like to get something close in value. The rifle is in 30- 06 . I have put a few rounds , less than 40 through it and it has no problems. I like old Mausers, springfields and Enfields. I like old sporting rifles I have four 30-06 so not really interested in that caliber. I will get pictures up later.

I don't remember if that's the Lyman or Redfield, pretty sure it's the Lyman, and yes, they did come stock that way. More pictures in the link:

I really do that is why I am trying to trade it before I make it usable - no matter how I try my eyes are having problems with iron sights. If it doesn't trade in the next week.it will be headed to the Smith for drilling and tapping and I will keep it

I could probably get my hands on a Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 30.06. I don't think he'd want to trade seeing as I bought it from him...
