I am going to re-barrel my rifle and put a contour #9 from Kreiger (muzzle diameter of .875).. If I chose the .850 stock would I have to sand the barrel length of the stock for my barrel to free float properly?? Or do I go with the .980 stock? I just want to make sure my barrel is free floated and I'm not sure which stock to pick? Any help? Please and thank you!

There is the list of the stocks below.

PST014 Remington 700, Long Action, BDL 5R Mil. Spec. (.980" Muzzle)

PST087 Remington 700, Long Action, BDL Remington #3 (.850" Muzzle Standard Police/Varmint)

Obviously the math is easy to figure out, I was worried about modifying the stock and making sure I buy the correct stock, as I've never done this before. But thanks for the productive response.
