Aha Longbow is on the quest for the hen's tooth of the 788 family.
I have only seen one, when I was two minuets late at a gun show in
Georgia 40ish years ago. then gave up and settled on a pair of
223s and 308s. fine shooting rifles. If nay when you find one send a pic,
so as to allow me to live vicariously in the success you have achieved.

I had one in 30-30 but the magazine was too short to load pointed bullets so it went down the road. The one I had in 44 mag was my favorite 788. Good luck, they do show up every once in a while.
