I put out food that Steller's Jays like. Aside from being colorful, they tend to chase crows away. They make their own racket, but do not seem to linger like crows.I'm into feeding the birds, have done it for 40 years or more. Around a $60.00 a moth habit I'd say! Those wild birds are pretty sharp. They know when there's cats around. Some of the birds will set up a fuss that can be heard in the house. The crows especially. They're in the tall trees across the road and nothing gets by them. The chickadees are just outside the house and make a constant, quieter rucus.
