The more I look at it the more I think you might have been correct on the Caspian. Not only do they have the square trigger guard they also have that recess at the slide release which is typically not present on a Para.

I figured it was one or both of these frames. Glad to see Caspian still making them.

Back when these were the only way to get a doublestck 1911 I wanted one so badly but being custom builds were way out of my budget back then. Today Im too invested in dbl stack plastic stikers to consider anymore but just seeing this one still alive brings it all back to me...
Only recently after all these years can one finally buy a reasonably affordable factory "2011"... a little too late for me now though.

The examples of the gunsmith frame kit that I've searched online, do not have a recess in the frame where the slide stop is. I blew up the OP's pic and you can clearly see it.

Great point. Any ideas as to what it may be?
I haven't seen the seller (though this week I may) and inspect it more. Esp any markings on the lower frame.
