Purchase of suppressor post BM114

I've been told by numerous gun stores that suppressors won't be affected, as they never go through a state level BGC. I hope that's correct, as I'm just getting ready to start buying a few.

I called silencer shop today about 2 I have been waiting 6 months so far for they wouldn't answer any questions all they would say is contact a lawyer. The few ffl shops I called to ask questions said there not selling them anymore cause they don't know what's gonna happen and dont want to get stuck with them.

You do have to fill out a ATF form 4473 upon picking up a suppressor once you get your tax stamp. But like @Elv8DM said you do not have to go through the NICS background check.

There are no concrete answers but the LGS I have talked to are under the impression that suppressors will not be affected by 114….

Am I correct in my understanding that even after filling it out, it never gets submitted to anyone?

I may be wrong but I believe the SOT dealer will use box 20 on the ATF 4473

Box 20 States - "No NICS check was required because a background check was completed during the NFA approval process on the individual who will receive the NFA Firearm(s), as reflected on the approved NFA application."

Find the price of the suppressor you want. Add 200.00 for the Tax stamp and a whole lot of sitting around, waiting, for a call to come get it 6-12 months later. Haha.

It's worth the wait though. At least to me.
