I'd like a beavertail fitted to my 1911.. Not a "hard" job, but definitely one that benefits from an attention-oriented smith. I know a lot of gunshops have smiths, but I've read bad stuff here and there about some of them. I only found one guy not associated with a shop, Dane Burns. Anyone have any words of praise for a good job done for a reasonable price?

thanks in advance

Can't for the life of me figure out why I keep forgetting Bruce...we even shoot together sometimes.

Maybe because we shoot and don't 'smith together....

Yep, give Bruce Jackson a call....he's a good one.

Glad to hear it .. I just dropped my 1911 and a revolver off with Bruce yesterday. I even learned a few things just watching him examine/function test my guns

He was quite taken by the revolver (a pinned and recessed S&W Model 17) :D
