Probably totally unnecessary, but some good thunderheads are heading north through the I5 corridor and surrounding. It's just south of Salem now. May wanna be extra cautious and unplug anything expensive; tv's, computers, laptops, game consoles etc..for the next few hours.

Been there done that about 25 years ago when a transformer got hit at my house and fried everything that has an ac adapter or control panel.

Good caution nonetheless. Our computers, TV and stereo are all plugged in APC brand Uninterruptible Power Supplies. According to the IT staff where I used to work, power sags killed more electronics in our field offices than line surges.

about six strikes right near us. one cracked when it lit up, so I know that was closer than a few hundred yds. I shot at it and it didn't come back.

If I stick a fork into an electrical socket at just the right time, will I get super powers and be able to shoot lightning from my hands?
