This is a pre-64 Winchester Model 88 lever action rifle in .308 cal. with a Leupold FXII 4X scope with duplex reticle. The sling is also included. Serial number 57212 dates it to 1958. The rifle and scope are in excellent/superb condition. Will trade for equivalent value Winchester Mod. 94 or Marlin Mod. 336 in 30-30 cal.

Someone else also pointed that out. I posted this for a friend and will see if he replaced the original, but the serial number does date the hardware as 1958. Thank you for the info., I will give him a call.
