While it's not a perfect answer, I can tell you that looking up pictures of the store from Google, they have the boop boop anti theft detectors but no metal detectors at the entrance. I'd be more than surprised if they had metal detectors at a bookstore.

No. I avoid them because of their "no weapons" policy, but have gone there with my kids or wife, armed, many times.
Edit to add: I haven't been to the 10th & Burnside store in about a year, and then they did not.
The Beaverton store does not. Otherwise, I'd set that sucker off every time I went into it.

So, interesting trip!

Downtown PDX store, no metal detectors, kind of what we all figured.

There was plenty of interesting scenery, however ... due to the major gay pride event in progress in the park area a few blocks away.

Imagine. How is one's sense of pride in themselves enhanced by telling everybody what jar you take your pickle out of? If I was ever proud of something it would have been my service and the lives I saved, not where my ding dong has been. Nobody cares and nobody wants to know.

Let's be proud of what really matters. They tell everybody body and cram it down our throats for a whole month every year. Meanwhile veterans get one day. How about police and first responders appreciation month? I'd vote for that. My dealings with the police in Springfield have been great. They've always been courteous and respectful to me, as I am with them.
