So to be clear before we start.
1. This is my pistol and is not for sale
2. I am asking for your opinion of my ideas to further make it mine (not yours)
3. Please no negative comments

I would like to make some improvements to my 1911 as pictured.

Thoughts are, leave it as it
Add some stainless pieces
*beavertail safety
*extended slide release
*oversize mag release
*guide rod plug

custom trigger.

Thanks! still smaller.jpg

Do you own any more 1911s?

If so leave it alone is my vote. I like the classic look of a GI 1911.

However if your in need of the extended slide stop and mag release I would say go for it. If your hands are fine with what's on it, keep it stock.

I'm with where Reno was going. Only do something if you need to do something to make the gun work/function better for you. If that were mine, the only thing I would do to it would be to add a beavertail grip safety. I like a high grip and the beavertail helps me get to where I like to be. Then shoot the daylights out of it to get everything internally smoothed out.

I concur with Bill. The investment in these add-ons are not going to make it and/or you any better or more effective. I'd vote to leave it stock and use the money to buy more ammo and invest in some training and then practice.
