I was monitoring that link for 30 minutes. It never went live showing the work session. Assuming they did not want the public to watch if they were not present in person?

I'm saying since it is election year, the opposition party should take full advantage of it and put on blast that Legislature is delaying implementation of an "emergency" where there's none, and that the majority Party is trying to sneak stuff by not having it required until 2028.

We were able to mobilize for the gas tax referendum, I don't see why we wouldn't be able to mobilize for gun rights in Oregon

Agree.
According to Gun Violence Archive, Deaths peaked in 2021. Deaths were down 22% in 2024. I read somewhere that 2025 stats show an even larger decline.
Seams the numbers are getting better without 114.
Edit: The 2025 stat came from the CCKBA email. Thank you 64 Merc for posting the link.
114 not about reducing violence, it's about control, eroding our rights and extorting money from us.

4145 did pass out of house committee yesterday.

Is anyone in the 2A community remotely surprised at this?

All hands on deck for the measure to reverse 114. We gotta somehow make it appealing to even non gun owners when it gets on the ballot for 2026

Who are the sponsors?
What is the source of funding and how much money have you raised so far?
Advertising?
How many signatures have been collected and how many do you need?

Not being a jerk here, just pointing out that it requires a viable plan, no matter how much work you put into it or how passionate you are.

the reverse measure is already is certified for signature circulation last I checked. I believe it's ballot measure BM2026-046.

After that, it's a matter of trying to spread awareness, however that is. Probably through social media to try to inform the general public. Reddit is a great resource to bring matters to Oregonians of all walks of life. Best thing, it's free.

It will be interesting to see if they didn;t already spend that money on something else.
They are falling short funding ODOT, schools, etc. Not surprised. Possibly attempting to rob Peter and pay Paul yet falling short, mismanaged funds. Wanting to tax/steal/force the good Oregonians of this state to pay for their mismanagement while violating the 2A.

In other words, just a normal democrat led legislative session in Oregon. The predictable result of mail ordering ones political representation or lack thereof…

The important stuff from that

"I witnessed Rep. Jason Kropf verbally abuse and intimidate his fellow committee member, Rep. Tran. She had just voted NO on HB 4145 and before (sic) the vote could be finalized, Rep. Kropf called a recess ...," LeBlanc said in the complaint. "He called her outside and threatened her for what seemed to be over 10 minutes."

LeBlanc claimed that upon her return, she was visibly shaken and had tears in her eyes, although that is not clear from a recording of the meeting.

LeBlanc stated in the complaint that Tran voted yes "only because she was intimidated to do so. That is not right and this is not how our Reps should be treated in the people's house. This is shameful and he should be held accountable."

The point I expressed to my Representative:

PLEASE VOTE NO on HB4145.

With the training requirement, it will mean a woman who is being stalked will need to wait 2 to 3 MONTHS before she is able to exercise her 2nd Amendment right to obtain a firearm for self protection!

This is clearly UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

Thank you so much for your time!

I suppose it could have been improved if I had said "a woman or transgender individual being stalked".

Just a suggestion for anyone writing their reps. Mine are all leftists, so. o_O
