Oregon camping? Lost lake?

I could only find fishing, hunting and shooting outdoors threads to post in so if there's another thread I need to be in let me know. Also if there's already a discussion going on , I'll check it out.

Considering late summer (October ish) ….edit…. I guess lost lake closes in August cooler camping with wife and 2 kids 8-9.

She asked about Lost lake.

I'm not planning on shooting, just hanging out….. preferably near water. Easy drive. Car camping. Probably won't need amenities but a quiet place without so many rowdies…. Or off road tracks.

Any Oregonians want to upsell your state…. We're coming from puget Washington area.

Most of the National Forest camp sites closes by October or November depending on locations and weather, as far as I know. You could try the Alsea Recreational Area West of the valley near the coast; or Linn County parks listings and Hood area?
