Kinda thinking about this myself but more specifically what gun right groups are currently participating in the upcoming appeal?
From what I've been kinda able to understand is possibly the NRA-ILA. But I'm not really sure. There's not much I've been able to find nor any current updates for anything about it really. At least nothing definitive.

The appeal to the Oregon supreme court is being filed at this time. Based on the wording of the appeals court decision, absent a stay by the Oregon supreme court, M114 will go into effect on or about April 16th. This is the end of the 35 day period granted by the appeals court.

IF it goes into effect at that date, the magazine restriction is the only thing immediately affected. The permit to purchase cannot go into place until and unless a permit system is ready to go. That was the decision of the federal judge in December of 2022.

House Bill 3075 will replace M114 and should become law sometime in the next few months.

There are numerous posts and threads on this forum explaining the very thing I just typed out. Just about every industry advocacy group in Oregon has the same information and is begging gun owners and FFLs to actually take action and submit testimony against the new anti-gun bills.

I guess I shouldn't be, but I'm absolutely floored by the number of gun owners and FFL's that don't have a clue about what's going on. If I fed my family and put a roof over their heads with a firearms related business, I would be reading everything put out by my advocates. "I don't have internet" or I get too many emails as it is" or my brother in law keeps me updated on these things" are, IMO, pi** poor excuses for having your head in the sand.

Thank you for reminding me to never participate in any discussion here on the forum. Seems someone is always ready to start throwing pies in other people's faces.

Over & out, probably for good this time

God I hope not. We need to win this.
Dude. Wake UP.

NRA
concentrates resources on issues that affect this Nation as a whole. Witness the Heller and Bruen decisions.

Those decisions are valid whether the Ninth Circuit or the Oregon State Supreme Court recognizes them or not.

IF those lower courts continue to disrespect the SCOTUS, then we no longer have a Judicial System in this Country.

And I FEAR, with the experience Trump has endured that may be the case.

Where? I looked in the legal section as that's where I thought I'd find it but I don't see it. Unless there's specific spot I didn't look. I don't use this forum too much.
We have a few members here who expect everyone to be fully up on the all the laws, court cases, ect or doggedly research it before asking the question. Don't let it spoil your experience here. Some of us are more easy going than others.

Everyone who can show up at the capital on Monday at 1300, be there. We have been there testifying every week since the hearings started. Derek leblanc is the admin on the Oregon firearms advocates Facebook page and he's organizing a lot of the testimony both written online and in person. We have an attorney who is already prepared to move this to the Oregon Supreme Court since it will most likely make it through the committee vote and both floor votes on its way to the governors desk. We have drastically slowed it down so far... so show up at the capital.

It might be helpful to have a stickied read only thread for latest info on Measure 114 and HB 3075. Maybe permission could be given to a member who wants to keep it updated or pass the info through a mod to update it.

That would save people a lot of searching through the many threads and posts to find the latest news on the laws.

This would be a good job for a mod in training.

If you don't have Facebook, i don't have time to keep updating everything in every different location. If you get on there and look up oregon firearms advocates, everything is updated. If someone wants to take that on for this group, awesome.
