If it were me I would go on what Tony the attorney said about dates. The 16th is the deadline for them to appeal. Not necessarily a deadline or start date of anything else.Curious if anybody has any insight into what'll happen in my scenario.
I ordered a Beretta 92XI SAO Tactical about 10 days ago. It comes with two 18 round mags. Unfortunately, it took the vendor a long time to actually ship it, so I'm not expecting it to hit the gun shop until 4/14. Factor in a few days for the background check and I could very well not take it home until after 4/16.
Assuming the gun comes in before the mag ban, can I just take the magazines home or do they have to stay with the gun during the background check? Logic tells me the check is only for the gun and not the accessories, but I'm not sure how the shop will handle it.
I've already secured a bunch of 92 mags just in case, but it would suck to have to have the store confiscate them. That's about $50 in mags down the drain.
