I have the Ronin shooters belt, its stiff enough, for I.W.B holster, as well as drop leg SERPA blackhawk holster,,but you have to thread it thru your belt loops before you put your pants on, because the latching mechanism, is a little wider than my jean loops. The latching mechanism seems good , will not become detached accidently, because you got to push both latches top and bottom for it to disconnect.
just my .02 cents.

Does anyone have any of these belts? In particular, I'm trying to get a feel for how stiff the G Code belt is. I know the two Ronin belts are super stiff (that's what SHE said!) :D.

And any other thoughts or comments are appreciated...aside from, "holy hell those Ronin belts are expensive!!" o_O Trust me, I noticed.

Nor sure what you need the belt for but I would encourage taking a look at Double Alpha. Mrs308 and I have them for USPSA.

Pricey or not, I would avoid belts that call themselves "warrior" or "war belt." Too much mall ninja. If I had that money to spend on a belt, it would instead go toward a watch, Gen III NV, or more guns and ammo.

I bought a really stiff belt at Goodwill about 8 years ago. It was more like a yard stick at the time, and while I can now easily roll it up, it'll still carry a CZ75 OWB, 2 magazines, Leatherman Supertool and a Buck knife. Plus, It'll make a great tourniquet if I ever need one in a pinch.

If I avoided gun stuff with cheesy military names, I'd never buy another piece of gear, gun, etc. You can't escape it in this industry. I've also got a fair number of belts for daily wear. I've got an Ares Aegis Enhanced that I wear everyday. Love that belt. I've got a leather Milt Sparks belt and while it's good quality, I just don't much care much for leather. I've got a couple of Wilderness belts that frankly kinda suck. I know people love them. But my experience has been they really aren't that rigid compared to a lot of other options and they're even less rigid after daily wear for a year. YMMV.

But with that said, I wasn't really looking for an EDC belt. I was looking for a range belt that I can leave setup and this format looked interesting. "War belts" are bulky and hot and tend to move around a bit. These belts seem to solve that problem and appear to be pretty easy on and off without having to constantly thread gear through belt loops and such. They also look low profile enough where you could wear them under a light jacket if needed/wanted. So if they work and are good quality, I can look past a cheesy a name. Price wise I don't find the G Code belt expensive. It's well within the boundaries of a lot of other belts. But holy hell the Ronin belts are expensive...as far as belts go. People do seem to like them though and I haven't heard anyone complain on the quality yet (posted on a couple other forums as well).

How do you find the IPSC style belts stay in place? Do they shift a lot if you've got to roll around on the ground or jump over stuff? I don't currently own any Double Alpha stuff but their quality is supposed to be excellent.

They have videos on their site that explain better than I, but basically a wide velcro belt you wear like a regular belt and when its time to shoot, just wrap your outer belt with the holster and mag pouches prepositioned in place. The outer belt is velcro underneath, so it sticks like glue. There is ZERO roll at the waistline with this setup.

No flop setup...outer rig here:

Basically I'm a cheap bast'rd. My belts are utilitarian and inexpensive. Cheap ones, no matter what they cost, are useless.
I have friends with $25K Rolexes, and a business acquaintance who wears a $38K watch that looks gay, and cannot for the life of me figure out why. But, they have the bank, and they can. I bought one watch with a sapphire crystal for $150. I've had it for ~12 years now, and except for batteries, it keeps on going. Before that one, I would destroy a watch every two years or so.

make certain your holsters fit to a 1.75" belt. Ive found that most are only made for 1.5", but that might not be the case for range and competition specific holsters?
