I have a 9mm Norinco that I am having an issue with. When fired, the trigger is not resetting unless the magazine is bumped. Otherwise the weapon is cycling fine.
have you tried it without the magazine?
there is no magazine disconnect, so either try it dry or at the range load one round in the chamber, leave the magazine out, fire and see if it resets.
if so, there is a relationship between the sear and the magazine (?)
have you tried a different magazine?
Thank you for your help. There is not a magazine disconnect, and the trigger resets fine when a single round is loaded with no magazine. This chi/russcom relic is similar to a 1911, in that the trigger has an oval on the backend which circles around the magazine well before interacting with the sear hammer assembly. Where it differs is that instead of interacting with the sear assembly directly, it interacts with a spring bar that in turn interacts with the sear/hammer assembly, which is self contained.
It runs wide body magazines. This means that the spacer for the caliber conversion from 7.62x25 to 9mm is contained in the magazine vs the well. The failure repeats regardless of magazine, but doesn't repeat with the slide off.
I believe that either the magazines are interacting with the circular yoke running around the magazine well due to the walls being pushed out when loaded, or the magazine preventing the trigger return spring from going back into battery from the recoil, but as this is the first time I have worked on this particular model, I am open to suggestions and opinions.
I had one of those, loved it for its simplicity and grip angle. You may have to tear it down and inspect parts mentioned.
Maybe Mic the magazine loaded and unloaded regarding bulge.
is the trigger bar rubbing against the magazine. have to tried taking the trigger out and polishing the side bars and channel. if this does not help atleast the trigger pull will be smoother
