Like most things, you get what you pay for. Fiber optics are fragile.

Having said that, I subscribe to the K.I.S.S. principle. I totally agree with John H, mixing up the front and back sights is more hype than not.
 
Thanks for all the input so far everyone. I do realize they can be fragile, but it's hard to beat fiber optics for daylight sights and bonus for combining it with tritium for nigh sights.

I've got some fiber only sights on two guns already, and I've got to say, they're great when you've got some ambient light to light them up.
 
When my Osprey suppressor finally showed up, I replaced the factory HK 45 three dot sights with the taller Heinie Straight Eight night sights and couldn't be happier.
Having only two dots (one on top of the other) to deal with really speeds things up and not having any muzzle flash is an extra bonus, let alone how muffled the sound is.
