The reticle is permanently etched in the glass. You can also turn a knob to uliminate the reticle to a green or red color. Please see the link above. I bought 2 of them and only need one.

What I really like about it:
With a red dot mounted on one of the pic rails on the scope, it requires only a "very slight" movement to sight between the scope and the dot.

East set up for a RH or LH operator.

Very versatile because the scope itself focuses very close as well as longer out.
