Hello all... I moved to Portland from Miami FL , May 17 , 2018 and live west s of the river north of the 217 / 26 interchange.
I am an NRA Endowment member, was an NRA certified handgun instructor for six years, and was a Florida hunter and outdoor guy for 31 years. Now that I have moved to Portland to support my wife's family, I need to make some contacts, learn how to hunt in Oregon, and pursue my gun hobby. I enjoy tweaking factory guns and loads to sub MOA performance and I currently have a variety to play with, from bolt guns to AR's, etc.
Attended my first Wes Knodel gun show yesterday and got my Oregon driver license three weeks ago. I need to get an Oregon carry permit and find a place to attend a class. I am also considering renewing my NRA certification and teaching here, but I do not know the State requirements to certify students.
My professional background, I have been in Information Technology for over 35 years and recently sold my business last March. I am still looking for a job in Portland. Looking forward to participating.
And finally, how can I buy 5 or 6 AR lowers in Oregon without getting killed on transfer fees? Primary Arms has $30 Anderson lowers today limit three.
