Nice. I was referring to Camp Abbot. Likely to be crowded there today. Last week I was out there and a couple of guys w CA plates were asking me about other shooting areas, astonished that you could just pull off the road and start plinking. LOL. You do that in most parts of CA and people call the cops these days.

No Brandy's. You wouldn't recognize Bend today. About to surpass 100,000 Californians. New police chief (Krantz) is SJW more concerned with virtue signaling than actual policing. Hired from Portland, go figure. Had a double homicide and a carjacking this week. Homeless camps everywhere, starting to look like Seattle. Still love the landscape, but the town is starting to leave me wanting. Wow, didn't mean to be such a bummer.... But thank you for the welcome.

Beautiful country that. Took a lazy drive from London to Edinburgh some years ago, trying to stay as near to the coast. Cambridge, Ely, Norwich I remember well. Got lost a few times trying to find the water. But a wonderful trip. Thanks for the welcome.

Oh the homeless camp is something I hadn't thought of... It's been since 2004 when I lived there in Tomaine Village. I have a friend that lives on 10acres north of the airport. Guess I don't talk to him enough... I didn't know about the homeless camps. Bummer!!! I hope they infest the west side up near the college...

But any of the on/offramps to the Parkway? No problem! Just pitch your tent along the highway. Want to live in the parking lot of Bi-Mart in your flea infested tenement on wheels? Go for it! When I lived in Bend, I was doing home inspections on contract with Amerispec. One of the houses I inspected was a vintage Craftsman style home just around the first bend of the road in the park. Fabulous place if you like old homes, but I imagine the price was comparable to some of the 5000sqft wonders with granite countertops, huge kitchens, and travertine floors. The wife and I used to love going to the builders open house thing they have every year, uh, the competition IIRC. Some pretty amazing places trying to outdo each other.

BTW, they ever get rid of the goose crap all over the sidewalk at Drake Park??
