So after quite a bit if research, I decided to take the plunge and try out the P80 G17 model. All in all it was an absolute blast to finish the last 20% of the lower and piece everything together. I completely forgot to take pics of the recoil spring chamber after I sanded it, so the pics for that still look a little rough. All together I felt like I got a pretty decent deal on everything. Only had two hiccups, one being the front locking rail being slightly larger then the opening. This is a known issue, in which the solution was freezing the block and then using a sharpie in the trigger opening to gently spread the frame enough for the block to fit. Second hiccup was the rear rail pin hole on the left side. Didn't quite line up with the drilled holes, this also another known issue. Shaved a hair out of the hole on the rail and then everything went in flawlessly. After it was all put together the slide slid right on without anything catching on the rail. Everything slid and worked well so I went ahead and lubed it up and shes ready to roll. I'm very happy how it turned out, and cant wait to get to the range and break her in. Anyone else have experience with buildings these? If so, how did they turn out?

Looks super nice! I've done 2 so far and I actually did both without any power tools, that's how easy it is to do.

My first was a G19 that needed a break in, maybe 7 mags? It was an aftermarket slide and barrel as well so that could be it. My 2nd was a G21 that I used a factory slide for, that one has run perfect since I put it together. I have about 1000 rounds on the G19 and maybe 200 on the G21 so far, both running great.

Both will eventually go to gunwerx for optic cuts, and some FDE cerakote for the G21.

G19 is the green one and G21 is the fde.

I built one a while back and it worked fine. My trigger pin would walk out the left side though.... I recently checked and reassembled the lower for a car gun, pin is locked in and engaging the slide stop spring, so idk... whatever.

I built a G19 clone.
Easy to do.
One of my favorite pistols to shoot.

Edit:
I made up a drill jig to keep my holes nice and square (see last pic).
Random drilling location to show the method.
Also made up "slave pins" out of my 3mm and 4mm drill bits to assist actual pins "getting home".
A file was made from a 3/4" x 10" piece of glass, taping various grits of sandpaper to it during the process.
A 5/16" x 8" wood dowel with sandpaper held on by a rubber band was chucked up in my drill motor and used for smoothing out the RSA channel.
