My Black Horse Quirt arrived in today's mail.

I really like this thing. It is light, fast, and was inexpensive ($11.88 shipped to my door from Colorado). It is made of wood and leather, nothing more. It can sting a marauding dog without causing permanent injury to an animal bout should (painfully) stripe a human rather quickly. It is cheap at this price and isn't considered an "offensive weapon".

Let that sink in a while.

Surprise! It can be coiled up in the pocket of a sports jacket. (Heck, it came in a 6" x 10" envelope).

Some people laugh, but the Quirt has quite an effect on marauding dogs without causing permanent damage. Fast leather across the face causes much pain without residual effects and their attitude changes quickly.
