I prefer metal Mil-spec for ammo (if the military spec's it in it must work), but for a wet environment or storing other stuff (camera gear, tools etc), these look great.

These are good cans, I used one under the back seat of the truck for a while to store misc gear.

I wouldn't assume the military only spec for quality.....
