Well I finally did it, I got all the real scope mounting tools. It is so nice to be able to do it the right way.
1. Tipton stand along vise
2. Wheeler gunsmith driver set
3. Wheeler leveling system
4. Wheeler fat wrench
5. Wheeler 1" and 30MM lapping and alignment bars
6. SiteLite mag laser boresite

The wheeler leveling system is pretty good. I have a cheaper method. A deck of playing cards! Yes, you heard me right. Put the playing cards between the scope mount (bases) and the bottom of the turret. You can add or remove cards until the rings are tightened. The scope will be square with the bases. This works really great on one piece bases, not so well on two piece. When your rings are almost completly tightened remove the cards and torque the rings.
Most scopes are flat on the bottom of the turret which allows you to do this procedure. Just a cheap tool to use.
