I was looking about GB this evening I noticed a rifle called Mossberg Patriot. As it is in .22-250 Remington, wood stock, steel, and dropbox magazine, seems quite neato. But I know zero about them.

Anyone know the story on these? Thanks.

Roger-dodger. Still well into brain fart territory. Might be time of the year, but find myself looking at classic hunting rifles and/or varmint guns. I've got a lot of trigger time on Mossberg shotguns but, to the best of my recollection, never shot one of their rifles. Meh, likely keep looking at vintage Remingtons.:s0155:

To expand a bit: I haven't shot one, just handled a few when I was looking at .25-06 as well. The stocks were...unintersting. Your typical low-budget pressed checkering, not quite free-floated on some, no character in the grain, inconsistent machining on the floorplate cutout. You get the picture.

A fine field grade gun if that's what you want, but nothing really better than the low-budget offerings from Savage, Ruger, etc.
