Modified pistol fires accidentally when racking slide

Old video so this was probably posted sometime in the past. Modified gun. Fired when racking slide.

Bought a used Argentine Hi Power 20 years ago at a gunshow, first time at the range it dumped the mag after the first trigger pull. Exciting to say the least!
Found that someone had tried a "trigger job" and there was almost no sear engagement.

It has a selector switch, so probably the real deal.

Fortunately no one was injured - or worse - but the guys range theatrics cracked me up when he first drew his gun.

That guy was holding the pistol really weird. It looks like their may have been a small front grip on the pistol he was trying to hold onto. I know I have never held a pistol with my left hand in front of my right hand like I would hold a rifle or SBR.

Yea the front grip came off under full auto recoil. The screenshot I posted you can see the rail mount portion of the grip sticking above his left hand. Makes me nervous to have hand anywhere near muzzle. But if you use good quality foregrip on something designed for that it's fine imo. But then I don't shoot full auto which is likely to rattle loose a lot of stuff I would guess. I don't think Mr. Glock had vertical foregrips in mind when designing the accessory rail.

Contrast that with a b&t metal chassis that goes on a Glock/p320/others. It has a metal bottom rail that is designed for a foregrip. I put a Wilson combat metal foregrip on mine (sbr). Again I don't shoot full auto but here you have two things designed for that purpose with solid all metal lockup.

I wonder what kind of grip the guy was using in that video too. Maybe airsoft even, who knows. But again I don't think the g17 plastic Glock accessory rail was designed for a vertical grip used in full auto. Note the gun in video was a converted Glock 17 according to the text.

With all the new pistols that have FCG (fire control groups) including P365, P320, Springfield Echelon and Ruger RXM I was hoping we would see some grips built from the ground up to be SBR's by now instead of just chassis built around existing pistol frames. Without having to build around an existing frame it seems like they could design much lighter while still very strong SBR's.

One of my favorites:

It is a converted frame with the addition of a small picatinny stock adapter but not an entire chassis for the gun to drop into.

I would love to have a SBR 9mm smaller, lighter and easier to pack than this:

without a chassis wrapping a conventional frame.

Very observant and true. Fcu into prebuilt unit would be sturdier for sure. There is a company in Germany producing similar. I'll try to find and post below. Germany limits how many guns you have so people are turning to ways to make 1 gun do more things. WA has kind of created the same situation in a sense I guess…
