I don't see any advantage to pocket carry over AIWB. When seated you can still draw, so AIWB is better. Might not solve your printing issue, but probably is about the same, except you may have more options such as a basic hoodie pullover.

My pocket carry is a backup to my AIWB.

With pocket carry, you can have a proper grip and essentially be in compressed low, or like having the gun down by your side, but no one can see it...and the draw can be lightning fast if practiced.

There's plus and minus to just about any carry position.

I pocket carry 95% of the time and IWB the other 5%.

After trying several pocket holsters my favorite is a Desantis Super Fly.

It grips my pocket well and the "fly" cover pretty much eliminates printing. It looks like I have a wallet in my front pocket. Drawing the pistol is easy and works well,

I use it mainly with my DB9 which is very similar in size to your LCP Max. The nylon material is much easier on the pistols finish than Kydex.

Oh wow, I really like that hybrid kydex-leather looking holster. I'll have to see if someone makes something similar for the LCP Max. Thank you!

Also, I never would have thought revolvers are harder to make out than a semiauto is. Maybe because the cylinder breaks up the look of the firearm? I was looking at one of those NA 22mag revolvers for pocket carry, but I have no experience with them and they look... different to say the least. lol

As I mentioned previously I pocket carry 95% of the time. The NAA 22lr is too small for my hands. Even with my very large hands the 22mag NAA's are useable and good for when you would have to go naked if you only have a bigger pistol.

The Keltec P32 is much thinner than the NAA revolvers and I will usually choose it over the NAA's when my LCP or DB9 just won't fit.

Personally I found that I would carry about 50% of the time when I would carry only IWB. When I started pocket carrying I also started carrying 100% of the time. Slipping a small pistol into my pocket and not having to worry about cover garments is just too easy.

My inside pockets of my jean vests are perfect for almost all small to medium pistols. I have a Velcro and nylon holster that fits well and stays in the pocket.

No printing at all.

Not trying to be rude, but try dropping some weight. I'm a big dude as well, and I have been working/eating to loose weight for about a year now. Better for carry, general health, and speed. Cheers my friend!

I don't think anyone has yet mentioned the "Superfly Pocket Holster" made by DeSantis. I've carried my LCP2 in one for several years. Sticky material won't pull out of the pocket with the gun, and a wallet shaped backer hides the firearm shape.
Was just about to mention such. Have one for my bodyguard, been using it for a few years & does well.

Got one for a LCP Max, haven't worn it other than for fitment. Seems to work well also.

LCP max isn't in carry rotation yet, still in range reliability phase…

Amen to that. I'm not a BFF but have lost about 30 lbs by limiting carbs to 100 per day or less. Sure feel better and blood pressure down, no more heartburn, and some other benefits.

I've never understood the concept behind pocket carry as a primary method of carrying a gun. I do see the reasoning and purpose behind it being a back up gun though. Maybe my pockets are just too full of other items that take more priority for me personally. Maybe I wear the wrong pants. I guess it doesn't matter cause the smallest gun I own is a G48 and i'm not jamming that in a pocket. Either way I hope you find a solution for your problem.

Hello all. I'm a new member. Been reading your great opinions and advice for a while now. Thank you for all the help.
I have been pocket carrying for a little over 10 years. I carry IWB when the weather gets cold. When it gets warmer, I end up wearing shorts and pocket carry is easier to conceal.
ATMO. Pocket carry has its own complications. I had to train myself to put my keys and knife in my left pocket. But despite the crappy draw and limiting your choices of pistol, it is much easier to grab and go on your way out the door. I have a couple options. A Bodyguard .380 in a Galco pocket holster. A Kahr PM9 in a Desantis super fly. Or a Smith 642 airweight in a Mikas holster. Get a holster with a rounded bottom. Pockets can have a square bottom or rounded. A holster with a round bottom will fit in both.
Mikas holsters are fantastic. You owe it to yourself to get one. Ordering is easy and after I sent my order Mr. Mikas called me to discuss my needs. Who does that? An actual call from the owner. We have had a few chats since my first one.

Ive been using a Vedder Pocket Locker and love it. Its quick even after just a few minutes of practice. Printing isnt too bad and Im sure the carrier notices it more than anybody else.
It doesnt bother me in the least as Ive always carried my money clip/wallet in the front pocket.

I will throw it in cargo pocket but dont like the weight that low and it moves around a bit.

For frame of reference, I've not tried a lot of pocket holsters...I've tried exactly 3, with the 4th being from Bulman Gunleather...their Kydex Pocket Pal.

It's the best I've used, won't come out of the pocket unless you physically remove it. Puts the grip in perfect reach and angle for proper grip. May look a bit bulky, but it's not.

It's in my pocket from the time I get up, til bedtime. Pictured here with my S&W 351C 22 Magnum.

The slot in the holster keeps bulk to a minimum.

I use the "pocket aholster" similar design to it. very very good design on both!

I make my own, with a flat back, molded from and then a layer of smooth leather over the top. I make it to fit the pants I'm going to wear it in, like Dockers vs Blue jeans, and I make a hook in the leather so the holster won't come out with the gun when you draw.

With Dockers with a pleated front, you can't notice at all, the same with pleated polo shorts.

I mold it to the actual gun. I'm about to start one for my Beretta 21 A Bobcat. I also made one for my dad about 20 years ago for his 25ACP Taurus.
