Man F that wall mart no more ammo they have nothing for me ! The other thing is they are going to sweat me for a receipt before leaving come one if I was sealing wouldn't I be running by with a Flat screen and a dozen eggs !

I was carrying my Glock 48 w/ Holosun EPS at 3:30 IWB. I went in through the main (grocery) entrance and when I went passed the anti-theft detectors; they beeped at me!
I went back by Walmart and tested it. I went into the store carrying like last time and it again beeped at me. I came the next day but left my gun in the car and there was no beep.
Intriguing... Try again with the Holosun removed? Or check the G48 to see if there's some RFID strip inserted somewhere?

Get you a 2lb dumbbell and carry that around instead of your gun. No beep means not a metal detector and you can sell your Alcoa stock

Heck, follow the "disabled" fat lady in her "wheelchair" through. They're everywhere at Wal Mart. Might even score a date

As I said above, there's no way to know for sure. All I know is that when I have my gun It beeps. When I don't it doesn't beep. I'll probably try it with different guns and see what happens. Weapons detection technology is constantly evolving and its not at all unreasonable to think that one of the companies making those products has tried to score contracts with big companies like Walmart. Walmart does have a global security division, and unless someone has a connection with them we will never know for sure what is occurring. Its not unusual for a company to let a big potential client like Walmart trial their product and see if they're satisfied with the results before signing a bigger contract.

The purpose of this thread was to share an experience I've had and see if anyone else has had anything similar occur, or has heard of something similar occurring. The fact that people think such a possibility of this occurring is beyond the realm of possibility shows how out of touch many users on this board are. Hopefully its all just some kind of weird coincidence and a nothing-burger. Maybe years down the road someone else will have the same thing occur and go looking for answers online and find this thread.
I share your frustration. The "concealed means concealed" people are behind the curve here.

Have you tried leaving just the gun behind (not the holster)? It's always possible there's an RFID tag in the holster.

Once you're sure the only variable is the gun and nothing else (and all guns, not something weird about one of them), the next thing I'd do is get a look at the manufacturer of the detector, which they're usually happy to advertise on the exterior, and look them up. See what their marketing material has to say about their advertised capabilities.

Thank you for posting this; I am definitely interested in what we can learn here.
