The international holiday for working people is Friday and there will be a large gathering and parade through downtown Portland. While I usually make a presence handing out pro-gun propaganda while marching, this year AGCR is a co-sponsor of the event and after I get off work I will be tableing in the south park blocks by PSU before the parade, probably from around 1-5pm. Anyone in the area who wants to say hello should stop by, it should be a fun afternoon.

If only I knew what AGCR meant! (it might be useful to actually spell out what the acronym MEANS. Really, it's not that hard to type and it does not hurt at all.)......................elsullo

American Gun Culture Report. Mouse the username, the drop down gives the option of "user's URL", select, and Bob's yer Uncle.....

I find it amusing, though, that May Day, which used to be a pagan spring fertility festival, I think originating in the Norse countries, has become a pagan worker's festival. If memory serves, the Bolsheviks coopted that festival and "reprogrammed" it. Like they try and do with everything else. Oh well...

American Gun Culture Report is the NW's only independent gun magazine which I have been publishing for several years now. http://www.americangunculturereport.com is the better source for info on that.
This was actually the smallest Mayday I have seen in Portland in many years, probably not more than a few thousand people. I credit Obamapathy. There was a similar phenomenon during the Clinton years among leftist movements.
AGCR tabled next to the Socialist Workers Party and I would say we outsold them as far as literature goes. We connected with quite a few gun owners who you probably wouldn't expect, from middle aged liberal women to an old crotchety deer hunter from Vernonia who told me he buries the heads of his kills in his garen to fertilize the pot plants. A handful of people just shook their heads after finding out AGCR is a pro-gun magazine but no one was rude to me. However, my webmaster, who is a libertarian and wore his Republican Youth pin was given some initial razzing. The difference is this: People mainly didn't have a problem with guns or the 2nd Amendment, but were pretty upset by someone ostensibly supporting a pro-big business, big intrusive government agenda. Once Xander explained he is a Republican who is against the wars, hates Bush, and just wants a small government that doesn't bail out big business, the leftists had little issue with that. We all definately had some good conversations and it was an awesome day.
