Master Po's Temple was a website that had a bunch of M1 Garand reloading data on it, but it was a very old site that looks like it was created back in the infant days of the Internet. Fortunately someone on another forum saved all the data and reposted it for posterity! I don't know if Joe or any of the other mods might want to sticky this post, but it sure is great data, and I've personally used it for making great loads with my batch of 147gr HPBT bullets.

Master Po's comments

These loads only duplicate military spec. velocities for the given bullet weight, using commercial cases and powders. If you are using military cases, drop all charges by 2 grains.

If you are looking for accuracy, drop all charges by 1 grain and work up .2 grains at a time.

Master Po's Ancient M1 load secret.

This is my personal M1 load I use in my CMP M1. It will shoot better than Master Po can. I worked this load up, as you should for your own rifle.

Remington .30/06 cases, flash holes deburred and weighed within 1 grain.
Federal GM210M Primers (Master Po has heard the horror stories of Federal match primers in the M1/M1A rifles. If you're squeamish or new to reloading, use Winchester Large Rifle)
47.0 grains IMR 4064
Sierra 175 grain MatchKing
Overall length 3.340 inches

This load, in my M1, duplicates almost perfectly the M72 match load specification with a very low standard deviation. Groups off the bench run 1 - 1.5 inches with the original 1945 barrel on the rifle. Of course, Grasshopper YMMV.

Ive been hard pressed to find a better load for a 168 than 46.5 of IMR 4064, CCI 34 and a OAL of 3.30 with either LC or HXP brass.

My load for 200 yard CMP games or TCGC matches is 50 grains of H4895, same primers and brass, under a 125 Speer TNT with a OAL of 3.10. Excellent at 200 yards with low recoil.

The main goal is obviously to find the right load for YOUR rifle, and get out and shoot these excellent rifles!!

I don't want to rain on the parade. I just want to comment that some of the recommendations in the OP as pertain to IMR and WW powders are similar to data written by John Clarke and published in American Rifleman in March, 1986. Which I and others have found a taste on the hot side for the M1 Rifle. The recommendation to reduce by 2 gr. when using military brass I would advise with any case brand. For example, in the M1 Rifle I'm a lot more comfortable with a load of 46.5 gr. of IMR 4895 with the 150 gr. bullet than I would be with 49.0 gr. recommended above. Keeping in mind that it varies from rifle to rifle, I'm just saying in general.

Top for Mikej

Been gone for three weeks and didn't check in much. Didn't post much either because I don't do well on the wife's tablet.

It's been awhile and after looking I see I only loaded up and shot 20 rounds. PPU once fired by me. Fed 210 primers and 42-44gr H 4895. Under Sierra 150 gr HPBT. OAL at 2.95". I stayed on the lower end off the Hodgdon site. Couldn't really tell how well any of it did because it's hard as hell for me to see the bright red dot a 75 yards. Ejection was within where it should have been.
