The price appears to be approx. in line with their other Trapper S/S offerings. Which seems like a lot to me. Maybe Henry will come out with something comparable in 10mm. For less. I've got a clunky .30-30 Winchester that will have to do for my lever gun.
Every time I see these kinds of prices, it makes me glad I bought the guns I did, when I did, for the much lower prices I paid. The guns may be used but most are LNIB or VG condition and I paid 2-3X less than current MSRP. My Marlin lever actions may not be quite as good as the Ruger made guns, but they seem fine to me, and if I really felt the need, I could send them off to be worked over by custom gunsmiths.

And yes, I know inflation is a factor too - which just makes me all the more glad I bought when I did.

In any event...interesting rifle...However not $1 ,599 worth of interest....at least from me

Edit to add...
At the asking price...I'd be wanting the front sight to be facing the correct direction..... :D
I understand the thought about pricing, but if you're keeping track, it's the new "Normal". :(
The sight looks funny to me, but would draw easily from a scabbard.
.44 Rem Mag dose fine for me in my Marlin 1894.
What goes 1350fps in a 4'' revolver, goes 1850fps in the rifle.

I guess if you carry a 10mm handgun and want a handy rifle in the same?
Not sure of 10mm rifle balistics?
Once upon a time I had an 1894 Marlin in 41 Mag. Yeah, over 1800fps was easy to do. I doubt the 10mm will match that, but it should be a good seller. At least 10mm is easy to find compared to finding a box of 41 Mag to shoot.

I've never cared for the looks of the Marlin '94. I prefer a Winchester model '92 for pistol cartridge lever actions, and the 336 for rifle cartridges.

From what I have read, the handgun 10mm ammo doesn't benefit much from a rifle barrel, and the .357 mag ammo does - compare the 180gr ammo of both and the .357 comes out of the rifle barrel much faster, with the benefit of better sectional density. I kind of doubt there will be any rifle only 10mm ammo in the near future.

I suspect the 10mm rifle will only be for those people who already have 10mm handguns, and at the MSRP Ruger is asking, it won't be very many of those people.

Like others, I prefer my .44 mag lever actions. Maybe someday I might buy a .357 Mag rifle, but I don't think it will do anything my .44 mags can't already do, and I prefer my 336 in .30-30.

Are yours 'Remlins' ?

I have looked at a couple in the past and in spite of what we often hear about Remlins the ones I saw were pretty nice actually.
The '95 SBL is a Remlin yes - but I don't see any problems with it.

I have to check the 336 (Youth Model .30-30), but I think it is a JM Marlin.

The XTR .22 I got for my daughter is a Remlin and it is fine - the only issue I had with it was there was grease in the bolt that slowed the firing pin enough to cause ammo to not fire. Once I cleaned that grease out it shot fine.

Hornady has introduced their flex tip LeverRevolution in 10MM recently.

Maybe they believe others will make lever actions in 10 MM as well.

I love lever guns and the 10mm cartridge, but will not be buying one of these. Between the price and already having a rossi 92 in 44 mag I am gtg.

I have a couple of Winchester 94s in 30-30. Kind of the reason I don't have the 41 Mag any more. I liked the idea of matching the handgun for ammo, but like the idea of a rifle cartridge more so.

Not everything has to be the ultimate bestest widget available. It's ok to have something just because.

I've been a 10mm junkie for a few decades. I also love lever actions. Combining the two will make a fun shooter.

I'll probably shoot a deer and a squirrel with it too...cause why not?
One shot and the squirrel will be gutted and skinned. Don't know if you'll find the meat?

These are now showing up on the auction. Waiting to see what they run when my favorite distributor finally has them. $1500 on the auction so far. If my range was not shut down it would be VERY tempting for Christmas.

Understandable, and I agree that a bottle neck rifle cartridge is superior to a straight walled handgun cartridge. That said, were I still living less than 2 miles from a wooded national forest, that 1894s in .41 magnum along with my 1999 S&W model 657 Mountain gun was/is an awesome combination.
And you do know that less than 3900 Marlin 1894s were produced? A rare and awesome Rifle/Revolver combo.

Not anywhere near the power of a .41 Magnum , especially with hand loads. But I suppose it does address a small Niche market for Glock 20/40 fans.

I'm paying $1175 for mine when it hits my FFL.

Or Ruger GP100 10mm fans ;)
Whatever tickles your fancy. I just don't get why people would buy a revolver in a pistol cartridge, where the gas leaks result in slower velocity, and a handgun with much less capacity. The 10mm doesn't offer any practical advantage, especially in a lever action carbine, over any revolver magnum cartridge starting with .357 magnum and bigger.

I can refer you to my earlier post in this thread:

I have an excellent condition mid 1970's marlin 336 on consignment sale at the shop I work at for $795.00. And just for clarification, I am not attempting to thread jump on selling my Marlin. It is not for sale here. Just at the LGS I work at.
