Well, we finally got the house sold in Washington and headed home to Montana. By a stroke of good fortune, the first gun show I went to had a Marlin 336 in 35 Remington. (Manufactured 1971) I had been trying to find one at a reasonable price for some time, and there it was. I'll post some pics later as it's in a safe at a friends house while we get the house set up. I may put a Skinner Express sight on it sometime in the future.

Good on you, you will like it. I had one of those, a 336RC but mine was older, made around 1960. In my neighborhood, .35 Rems were kind of an overlooked gun and priced accordingly. But probably not anymore. I paid $250 for it 14 years ago. It was one of those things where I was at a gun show. hadn't found what I was looking for, ready to leave and saw the 336RC on the way out. I had money burning a hole in my pocket and bought it. These are a very solid rifle. SANY3680.JPG SANY3681.JPG SANY3682.JPG

I'd forgotten this, but it just had to have that little gold trigger that Marlin liked to use back then.

The .35 was really the only one of that family that seemed to hold on.
Must be a darn good reason for that!
Congratulations on your find.

I had been looking for one for quite awhile, and found one at the show in Klamath Falls in excellent condition.

Made in the mid 70s, put a compact Leupold 2-7 scope on it.

A great powerful much overlooked cartridge.
