Marlin 336 30-30

Selling my Marlin 336 30-30, bought it used from Scheels and never took it out to shoot it.
I was originally wrong about it being a ruger made rifle...it's a remington Marlin I guess. Guess I need to look at things more before I buy them! Still for sale and still a nice rifle.

Selling for $650, what i bought it for. Can add a box of ammo. Not looking for trades.

Fairly certain that's not a Ruger Marlin, serial number is MR******
That would be a Remlin which is why you picked it up in Meridian for $650

A Ruger made Marlin starts with RM and the bullseye on the buttstock is red in the middle, not black…. and fetching nearly double the 650 you paid for the Remington made rifle.

The guy at the Scheel's gun counter probably didn't know himself. A lot of the Remington made rifles shoot and feed fine, they just got a bad rap because many of the first year or so were plagued with issues because they lost the guys that knew how to run the equipment and build a lever gun. Most diehard Marlin collectors do a lot of trashing on them, I've been collecting them for years and admit all of mine are JM Marlins, but I do have a Remington made SBL 45-70 that's awesome and I can shoot cloverleafs off my shoulder with that rifle. If I didn't already have a couple in 30-30 I'd probably buy it. It's a bit of an addiction once you get started, they are just fun to shoot.
