Well it will look cool, and not near as bulky as a Beta mag.

The Russians had a similar quad mag but you really don't hear much about it, and there are lots of drums for the AK.

It will sell but I don't see it taking over.

Been around for a while, MagPul is just trying to jump on the AR version.

There's a 60 rd. AK-74 mag that is produced in limited quantities for the RPK-74. And the inspiration for that was the Italian Spectre 9mm submachine gun 20 years ago.

The downside is that it's the same overall length as a 40rd. mag...which is VERY tall. But you do get 50% more capacity. I'd like to say it would be as reliable as the PMAGs, but the PMAGs themselves have some issues. So...who knows.

Alright... some new MagPul Kool-Aid! Neat-o!! I wonder when the "operators" are going to use them... that would be so kewl next my MagPul posters :s0077:

Interesting enough, from the link above:

"MagPul's quad-stack mag patent application follows Iszmash's announcement that one of the major features of the AK-200 rifle/carbine/SBR will be a 60-shot quad-stack mag."
