$ 1,700 for a customized sub MOA Springfield Armory "Loaded" stainless medium weight Douglas barrel version. Bought new in 2013.
Low round count, approx 1000 rounds.
Mature owned NEVER "mag dumped" in fact we only shot it from a bench for accuracy every round was hand inserted 1 shot at a time as a single shot target rifle.
Note: M1A's and 308's in general can go to up to 6, 7 8 and even 10 thousand rounds without a burned out throat !
New Sighttron 6.5 x 24 x 50 S III with tiny target dot reticle , made in Japan of all Japanese material and glass. Sightron glass comes from the famous L O W / Light Optic Works the finest Japanese glass which also supplies Lupold's top of the line gold ring scopes & spotting scopes some Nighforce scopes, and the top of the line Nikon Monarch series scope. Sighttron as a life time guarantee. ( link to web site ) Sightron Riflescopes SIII Series SIIISS624X50LRMOA (http://info.sightron.com/Riflescopes/SIII-Series/SIIISS624X50LRMOA/) This scope has a generous eye box at 24 highest power, all around super clear edge to edge, great light gathering, crisp real imaging , perfect return to zero, plenty of internal "come up" for cal 308 to 1000 yards, on par with scopes that cost twice as much
( Google Sighttron reviews , no one trashes the quality of these scopes )
Made in a USA Texas Bassett machine low profile scope mount ( holds a perfect zero ) ( see link ) Bassett M14/M1A Scope Mounts (http://www.bassettmachine.com/)
Comes with Vortex scope bubble level.
Stock, on the stock we cut a "crescent" shape and over 1 inch off of the rubber but pad due to 1) the fact that the Bassett mount does not allow the scope to be slid back to a closer position and the stock's length of pull is also too long for me and most of my friends, if You don't like it then ProMag the makers of the stock will charge You about 25 for the original un-altered butt pad but I know You will like it just the way it is as about 10 people have been behind my M1A and they all like the length of pull as we have made the crescent cut
Upgrades also include: The obvious USA made Archangel stock, we installed it "before" Springfield Armory started to install then in their own rifles, they caught on because the average M1A wood stock tends to shrink & expand and keep the rifle from holding consistent tite groups unless extensive bedding is done. The Archangel is solid as a bedding job the rifles receiver does NOT move even in the slightest. We added a non Harris no name reproduction "long" bi pod.
Internal upgrades are David Tubb's Chrome Silicon OP rod spring and Hammer spring ( see link )
Tubb Precision CS M1A/M14 Op-Rod & Hammer Spring set (http://www.davidtubb.com/chromesilicon-m1a)
Sadlak National Match OP rod spring guide. ( see link )

Also added a wide blade polished brass trigger shoe for a better smooth "flat" trigger pull.
I took it to Ted Brown for custom trigger work. Ted is a world renown M14 / M1A master rifle smith - specialist , He worked on the trigger for a 2nd stage clean break & light pull to about about a 3rd less than the original National Match trigger. Ted literately lives right down the road from me, He posts a column on www.M14Forum.com which is also thee #1 resource for M1A information I highly suggest You join M14Forum.
Comes with 8 magazines, one 25 round, five 20 round Checkmate USA mags, one 10 round and one *5 round for legal deer *hunting both 10 & 5 are Springfield Armory.
All magazines function just fine, a few are a tite fit which need sanding on the sides to loosen the overly tight fit in the ArchAngel stock.
We worked up a load 155.5 Berger full bore target and 155 VLD-H load with 42 grains a H-4895 that ( when the wind is zero ) it constantly gives us five shot 1/2 MOA 100 yard groups and sometimes 2 shot hole through hole and 3 shot clover leafs.
We did not "unitize" the gas system as most M1A owners do nor did we go with an after market gas piston because the accuracy of this rifle is good enough for me.
With the 168 SMK's & 42 grains of H-4895 ( new box of Match Kin gbulllets included ) at 600 yards I'm always in the black when the wind is under 5mph with a couple 10X & lots of 8 & 9's for what ever good that means lol.
Comes with about 500 brass ( about 13 pounds ) most are clean Lake City with 1 or 2 firings. The rest are a mix of Hornady Match , Norma Match and some Remington.
Also comes with about 100 loaded rounds of 150grain Sierra Hunter soft point "hunting" reloads using 42 grains of 4895 ( pictured in the green plastic ammo box )
Also comes with about 50 count of LC mil spec orange "tracer" ball and a few black tip Armor Piercing rounds.
Also come with 25 round of mil spec 147 gr ball, also comes with 20 round of 110 gr factory custom "Varmagedon"
Plus approx 100 more rounds of mixed types of reloaded 4895 powder soft point hunting rounds of varying bullet weight .
Plus some 155 VLD's & 168 SMK's loaded up.
Plus a full box of 168 grain Hornady Custom Competition bullets, plus a full box of Sierra 175 Match Kings, a full box of rare pre Match King Sierra International target 168 grain match bullets cerca 1960's plus a half box of of Berger 168 gr VLD Hunting, plus a half box of Sierra 165 BTHP.
Comes with a Dillon brand "drop in" - "go or no go" S A M E spec case - size gauge, the fastest way to check Your brass for size and length, just drop an empty shot brass into it and it if fits its good to re load if not then it will need either an obvious re-sizing or trim or both.
Plus a few RCBS range ammo boxes and one small green belt box for Your custom loads.
Plus one new un-opened jug of H-4895, plus one half full jug of H-4895, plus one new un-opened jug of 4074 which is also good for the M1A gas - pressure range, plus one full jug of Trail Boss which is perfect for making sub sonic loads ( see YouTube link )
Plus a set of RCBS small base full length dies > small base - full length is thee ONLY die You should use on a semi auto 308
Basically EVERYTHING You see in the pictures for $1,700
