M&P 15 Sport hand guard upgrade?

I want to upgrade the hand guards on my M&P sport. I have one question can I go to a free float hand guard?

Should be able to. You would need a new low pro gas block, if the handguard was longer than what you have now, and the tools to remove the parts on there now, but sure, why not. It looks like a standard DI system.

There's a few thing you have to change to do that. Check out some vids on YouTube and decide if its gonna be worth the effort for you.
