I have Ruger M 77 MK11 in 300 WSM.
I do not like the trigger. It seems to have a lot of creep and is heavy and rough.
I was wondering if anyone has ever had work done on this rifle to help the trigger?
I have that rifle in .22-250. The original trigger had horrible creep, then a pause, then a little more creep. I swapped it out for a Timney trigger a long time ago.
I have one that I reworked myself. It has been awhile but I think it involved changing the angle of the sear surface on the trigger. Stoning to polish the engagement surface and a lightened spring. No creep, 3lbs pull. I also drilled and tapped for an over travel adjust screw.
I used a drop in "Hunter" trigger spring which helped some.
Replacing with a Timney really solved the problem. The safety has to be fitted to the trigger and that can be a bit of a time consuming process, but worth every minute.
We have two 77MKII's with Timney triggers in them.
