Luger Specialist

I recently purchased a 1939 or 1940 Luger P08 for a good price. I was hoping someone knew a specialist in the Portland metro area who can help me determine a little more about it and give it a quick once over so I can find out if I am able to shoot it or if it needs some work before it is serviceable. I want to get it inspected for authenticity and function and a bonus would be if the person could tell me more than I internet sleuthing has told me about it. I know the manufacture and that is about it. If you don't want to publish his info here send me a PM and I will give you my contact info and you can pass it along to him.

I'm an ex-collector and lugerforum member, but Ron is just down I-5. So you'd be better off talking to him. There are no 'fakes' BTW, except the Mitchell stainless stell 'Lugers' made a while back - easy to tell since no Luger - P08, that is, was ever made in anything except the highest quality steel.

1. In a Luger made after 1936 there are rarely matching magazines - they should be light-alloy bottomed.

2. All other numbers should match - the last two digits of the serial should appear on every piece of the pistol.

3. The number on the front of the frame should usually have a letter in lower case, this is also part of the serial number.
