If you're headed anywhere in Montana, Wyoming or Colorado, look for a Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply.
I made a summer trip to the Midwest and most Murdoch's had just about anything you wanted. Powder, primers, bullets. Lots of ammo.

Do primers have a shelf life? I've got a couple boxes that have never been opened, but i have no idea how old they are. Kirk
I've got some old Western primers in wood trays. I don't use them for anything serious but probably could. I've never had one fail. I'm not sure how old they are, but my best guess is somewhere between 50 and 70 years. I believe they've always been store inside a home in dry conditions.

No, they should be fine if stored in a cool, dry place.
Thanks guys.... Years ago i had a 44 mag and was thinking of doing some reloading. i purchased a full set up for a reloading press, a couple boxes of primers, bullets, and a batch of empty brass. But.... i got into to archery, and traded the pistol for a cow.... Good cow too... She threw a lot of calves over the years and fed us well...

But.... i still have this reloading stuff, and need to find a new home for it... Kirk

Wouldn't it be better to get another .44 magnum? :D

I'm an archer too but still love my .44 magnum.

I've had some of those over the years too. Dome shaped. I never had the seater with the concave profile, I just used the flat surface and they worked fine. I think I also had some Frankford Arsenal primers packed like that, also dome shaped.

Ouch 23.99 hazmat fee.

Wondering if there's shipping on top of that?
That's cheap. Check out AR15 Discounts hazmat fee. It's $42 per case, plus shipping on top of that.

Bi-Mart in Corvallis has a lot of primers. I think they were $7.99/100. They have a lot of powder too, but it's spendy.

Yup. Hazmat, shipping, plus tax (if in sales tax state). That $85 jumped to $140.
Nope.
I just paid $2.50 per thousand for hazmat and shipping. The trick is ordering in volume from the right retailers.

For low volume just go to Bimart. They have a good selection now and it is only 15-20% more than cheap online retailers.
