Yes its still for sale@GavinCayan has a JM Marlin Cowboy in 45-70 for sale that I wanted but then had to back out of the sale on him due to my wife having surgery. Nice rifle. It's farther down in the list but still for sale, I think.

I have a Herters 6mm with a Mauser action but am still considering looking into a 60's era Remington...preferably with a 1:9 twist..or so. Mine is a 1:10 and cannot shoot anything over 95 grains with any accuracy. Why do you want a 6mm Remington? I have one, may be talked into a sale or trade if you are desperate enough for me to swindle you.
Ironically, I've it, a 7 Mag (Remington 798) and a sporterized 8mm and all are Mausers. Just ended up that way. 6mm is a great deer rifle and if we do not get our tag, I may use either the 6 or the 8 for deer. Yours must have a better twist then.Mine likes the 100 grainers. 95 gr not quite as much. I bought it for varmint control but really like the low recoil. May carry it for deer this year

I considered it but not sure I'm all that keen to invest more money into it. I'd likely have Tom Novotny do it since he's here in Sandy and he is a Mauser junkie as well.6mm Remington is a great cartridge.
Have you priced the cost of a re-barrel ?
If not, @Velzey over in Estacada might be able to help you.
