Looking for recommendations for a gunsmith in the Hillsboro/Aloha area, need to have a rear sight fitted to a 1911 slide.

I've been looking for one in the Hillsboro area for awhile. Kurt at H&K gunshop in Forest Grove has decades of experience and still does some work on long guns but i haven't found that all around guy. Though I am quite hopeful that Velzey out in Estacada will be my mew go to giy.

That's who I ended up going with. Roger remilled the slide to take the oversized replacement rear sight. Dropped it off Friday afternoon, it was ready Saturday morning.

Nice clean cut, would be hard pressed to tell it wasn't factory installed. Good quality work, quick turn around, reasonable prices.

I'd recommend Roger based upon this initial experience.
