Looking for a gunsmith in PDX area to cut a barrel

I am looking for a gunsmith that can cut and refinish the end of a spiral fluted barrel on a Savage 93 BSEV.

I am looking to have someone shorten the barrel to the legal size in Washington State which I think is 16".

What I hope to do is take off some of the barrel heavy weight so the gun is more balanced and lighter to be able to shoot from the shoulder..maybe I am a wimp but if putting hundreds of rounds at one time I would like to shave off the weight and not have to use a bipod.

Since you have worked with Toronado do you know if they reply to e-mails? I e-mailed them asking if they could or would do the job minutes after your reply appeared and have not yet received a reply from them confirming if this is something they could do. Should I assume no response means "no thanks"?

Tornado is usually pretty busy. Try calling them instead. They do great work.

What caliber? Says on Tornado's site that they can't shorten/recrown Savage .17s..
