Just curious if anyone has any insight on a custom leather holster maker here locally. And by locally I mean in Oregon and within a 50-70 mile radius of the Hillsboro area. My buddy wants to surprise his dad with a custom holster. I don't use leather so I'm a virgin when it comes to this matter. I don't think he'd be opposed to making a drive somewhere but knowing him, he'd rather not lol. Thanks for any input fellers!

Ted Blocker is in Tigard. Been there a long time. I would presume he'd welcome custom work.

I wonder if A.E. Nelson could do a nice custom holster for my Anaconda, i'm funny, I like a shallow angle cross draw and have found several in the smaller size like the Python, but nobody seems to make them for the large/magnums!

Last time I was out there they would do pretty much anything you could dream up. Its been a few years

They did a custom for me nearly 35 years ago, top shelf work, didn't know they were still around, good to know they are still at it and making top shelf stuff! Just fired off a message to see what they might be willing/able to do for me!

I do not recommend Ted Blocker. I bought a $280 shoulder holster from them, after the sale of the business. It arrived assembled wrong, with the straps reversed. They would not respond to emails or answer the phone.
Friend of mine ordered some western leather from them, had a similar experience. Took forever to arrive and was wrong / not great when he finally did get it

Ted Blocker was great when you could walk into the shop with your pistol and talk to the person who was going to make your holster, which was my experience.

Haven't been there since they moved, so maybe not so good anymore...

"Ted Blocker" sold and moved? Maybe 2013 when we got a holster from them for an SP-01. I don't think it took but a couple/three weeks? If that. nothing fancy but looked and fit great. Boy, with the recent reviews?

Don't know how old this is . They show a Tigard PO box but no physical address .

Important Announcement:
We have moved. We love where we are at and are currently working overtime trying to shorten the large stack of orders we have. For those who have been patiently waiting for their Ted Blocker product, we thank you for your continued patience. Often we don't get to the phone because we just have to put our heads down and work. We are trying to keep up with the messages and emails. We have not forgotten you but we need all hands on deck working with leather!

Online orders are still open, and we take phone calls as we can. It is hard to work on a custom order and step away for a call, we need to keep our minds on our orders. This is not a mindless job.

Current Lead Time:
For some items like a belt, we should be able to get them out within 3 weeks.
Shanks are behind but we try to get them out in 6 weeks.
Holsters are taking many months. Sorry but they just take expertise and time.
We are operating at full capacity again. We apologize for the extended wait times & appreciate your patience and understanding as we do everything in our power to get caught up with your orders.

We love what we do here, and we look forward to improving our production practices, honing our artistic skills, and serving our customers better.

With tired but grateful hearts,
The Team at Ted Blocker Holsters

No physical address available? No name/names tied to the statement. Just a complaint about how busy, overwhelmed they are? How many team members?
Well, with the service they seem to be providing now? They won't have to worry about being stacked up at a certain point in time in the future.
