Leupold vx-3 vs vx-r

I'm looking for a hunting scope for my 6.8SPC and I'm considering either the VX-3 3x9x40 w/CDS or the VR-3x9x40 with CDS.

Prices aren't that much different. Which would be a better hunting scope for a 6.8? Also, is the CDS worth it? It looks pretty cool.

No worries! I went ahead and ordered the Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40mm with the Custom Dial System (CDS). Amazon had the Wind Plex reticle so I got that one. I'll update this thread once I get it out to the range.

This is a really nice review (although I didn't order the side focus option):
