According to the Savage website this is a 1899, made in 1915.
Desirable Take down model
Savage Arms Corporation, Chicopee Falls Mass. USA.
Caliber is 250-3000.
Numbers on bottom, serial 172550.
Lyman rear peep sight. Barrel length is 22".
Great condition for the age.
First bullet to reach the 3000 fps. mark with 87gr. bullet.

Rifle is currently in Grants Pass but can be transported.

Took the butt plate off and the serial number was there, someone wrote 3/21 in pencil very faint, there was a hole about 3/4" in diameter that has stick matches in it!
