Can Anyone recommend a good budget laser bore sight for a 308 hunting rifle that can go up to 100 yards? I'm hoping to pay under $30 and not sure what brand or style to go with.

Thanks

You talking bolt gun, I presume?

I've used the Bushnell laser bore sighter...With so-so resultes. Not out to 100 yards. All it's ment to do is get you om paper. I used it at around 30 yards in my back yard. Still some work after that to get you hitting center target out at 50...100.. yards. Last time my mistake that I didn't confirm by rotating bore sighter in barrel and adjust again. i was WAY OFF when I tried shooting at 50yds.

Best off using your bore if you have a bolt gun.

Yes, it is a bolt gun. I want to use it to practice longer range shots, which is why I was hoping to find one that can sight to at least 100 yards.

I'm no pro at this, but I see it as you need to get on paper at a reasonable distance and THEN start reaching out there to 100yds+. At least that's the way I've done it. no mare than 100 though because that's the longest I get at the range I use.

That makes sense. I. suppose once I can make sure it's sighted at 25-30 yards, I can just adjust from there.
Thanks

I've had as much success using the bore sighting method of removing the bolt and looking down the barrel at an object and then adjusting the scope without moving the rifle as using a laser bore sighting tool. I'm not sure they make one for 100 yards as they are designed to get you on target at a closer range. I've looked at the caliber specific ones that you put in the chamber but they are not cheap for what I would consider a 1 time use item. I've also looked at the scope zeroing kits and while expensive they could be used for all calibers. Again they are fairly expensive for the amount of optics mounting that a normal person does. The reviews are kind of mixed. Cheapest method, if you can get your rifle to hold still, is the looking down the bore method to get on paper. Used this last weekend on 2 different rifles with success when the initial test firing found zero paper.
