Happy holidays, fellas
As some of you may know my father recently passed away. And even though it wasn't a surprise it was still painful.
But dad left behind something for me to share. For over 40 years, he had a couple tons of Kiln-Dried Plained Black Walnut Slabs that he never got around to playing with. His loss was my gain as I was passed in the wood.
There is a simple formula for calculating the board-feet (bf) in a slab: widthXlengthXthickness then take that number and divide it by 144. So, you got a slab that's 44" W, 85" L, 2.25" thick: 44X85X2.25= 8415
8415/144= 58.44 board feet (bf), and if it's selling at $10bf, the. 58.4X10= $584.375
But I'm feeling like dad would have felt special over the weekend… if you buy some I'll hook you up, it's what dad would have wanted. Prices listed in photos, too much to post all pics (and it's too damn heavy)
