This is not a political endorsement from me (yet), but FYI I've written to Betsy Johnson during past Oregon State legislative sessions regarding anti-gun bills, and she was always a reliable "no" on all of them.As much as I'd want a GOP Governor, that dude from the NYT would be a barely-tolerable replacement for the current Dem fields. He's at least on record in his writings for the NYT as saying rifle bans/mag bans don't work and take the eye off the ball of criminality.
Phil Knight is throwing a bunch of money behind her too. I think he's a lot more like us than the company he built. This is not a political endorsement from me (yet), but FYI I've written to Betsy Johnson during past Oregon State legislative sessions regarding anti-gun bills, and she was always a reliable "no" on all of them.

Sadly again OR voters did and do this to themselves. Kate did not win in a vacuum. Last time around she had an opponent. Many do not want to remember him. LOT of gun owners proudly told anyone who would listen that he was worthless, a RINO, makes no difference, they were going to write in someone else, ect. Pick the reason but bottom line is gun owners voted for Kate just like they did here when the voted for Jay yet again. There is always a LOT of excuses for why this happens. With many gun owners claiming its not gun owners. Facts do not lie. WAY too many gun owners are their own worst enemy at every election. They become a self fulfilling prophecy then blame everyone else.My conspiracy theory for 2022 in Oregon is this:
Brown will resign as governor to accept a position in the Biden administration.
Fagen will automatically become governor, will run as incumbent and be elected.
Fagen will appoint another socialist to Secretary of State, that person will run as the incumbent and win.
There's definitely some truth to this. Churchill once said that perfection is the enemy of progress.Sadly again OR voters did and do this to themselves. Kate did not win in a vacuum. Many get over the top angry over this but the math is simple. Take the # of legal gun owners. Add to that the # of people who do not want to own a gun but are NOT happy watching the scum over run the place. Take that # compared to the votes for Kate or Jay's opponent. The answer will show anyone who does not want to believe the truth where the problem is. A few gun people in CA have said this for years. If they could get even 20% of the legal gun owners there to vote as a block? They could turn that state around. There is just too many gun owners who can't be bothered. Boy can they get mad and throw blame though when they find out some new law went in that effected them. There's definitely some truth to this.
